PepsiCo WIN-Women’s Inspiration Network Names Blogger Correspondents

2012

The PepsiCo Women’s Inspiration Network – PepsiCo WIN – is an interactive community where you can gain access to exclusive stories and interviews on topics from health and wellness to environmental sustainability to trends and inspirational stories.  It offers global female perspective and idea sharing from leaders, innovators and a community of women around the world.

When I first heard about PepsiCo WIN I was intrigued that a major corporation was focused on topics helping people live more balanced lives and using their access to share ideas, inspiration and forge connections. That is what The Zen Mom is about Wisdom, Inspiration, and Laughter.

So when Indra Nooyi, PepsiCo CEO announced at Blogher 2011 that they were searching for digital correspondents I was really excited to get involved. Especially after hearing her life story and vision.  I had this feeling in my gut that this was something I really wanted to be a part of and when they notified me I had been chosen, I was like what?  It didn’t seem real at first.  Well, today they made the official announcement and I’m honored to be working with PepsiCo WIN and to be in such great company.

Nicole Feliciano, Founder and Editor Momtrends.com-a site that keeps moms in tune with all things stylish and cool. I love her site and how she always keeps me  ”in the know”!

“I’m thrilled to be working on this partnership with PepsiCo WIN. I entered the contest hoping to expand the reach of MomTrends and to be able to share some fresh, compelling content with our community of moms. PepsiCo WIN is giving me the chance to share my findings with my readers. And we all know how important sharing is!”

Tammy Tibbetts is Founder and President of She’s the First, a not-for-profit that sponsors girls’ education in the developing world, helping them become the first in their families to graduate, and nurtures the leadership of young women in the United States. What an inspirational organization!

“I’m so grateful for this opportunity to be a PepsiCo digital correspondent and thrilled to represent the non-profit community and millennial women! I truly believe with online and social media we can make a huge impact on the world, and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can all achieve together with PepsiCo.”

Each of these women share their insight and knowledge on a daily basis through their blogs and organizations and now they will spotlight even more “moments of inspiration” as we go behind-the-scenes at key digital PepsiCo-sponsored events in 2012 – South by Southwest Interactive (SXSW) Festival, Aspen Ideas Festival, and BlogHer.

“These women were stand-out choices among the compelling entries from a pool of remarkably talented and inspiring women,” said Jamie Stein, Director of Digital Platforms at PepsiCo. “This is a first for PepsiCo and expands on our efforts to support female digital entrepreneurs by giving them insider access. We look forward to reading and watching their coverage. ”

I believe through sharing stories we can inspire and empower each other. I’m excited to work with PepsiCo as a correspondent to bring stories, conversations, and different perspectives to life and to share them with you!

Thanks for being a part of The Zen Mom.

Lifetime Moms-”Do You Feel Guilty Making Yourself A Priority?”

Jan

2012

So how has the first week of 2012 been?  Was it special or just like any other week?  Did you work on any resolutions or decide just not to have any?

One of my resolutions is to make myself more of a priority.  Hmm, just saying it makes me feel a little guilty!  But it shouldn’t. As Michelle Obama said in a recent interview with Barbara Walters, “Putting yourself high on the priority list is not selfish, its practical.”

I explore this topic in my latest post,  Do You Feel Guilty Making Yourself A Priority? for Lifetime Moms.  I’m excited to join Lifetime Moms as new Contributor joining a powerful group of engaging women sharing their real stories that celebrate, entertain and inspire. Throughout the year we’ll be generating some lively conversations! Check them out on Facebook and Twitter.

Blogher 2011-Conference Preview and Prep

Aug

2011

In just a few minutes I’m leaving for the first events of Blogher, although the conference doesn’t actually officially start until tomorrow.  There will be a buzz in the air in Downtown San Diego as more than 3,000 people/bloggers gather for a weekend of networking, learning, sharing, and inspiration. If you don’t know what Blogher is here’s link.

If your headed there.  Here’s a link with some great prep articles.

What is it you ask?  This quote on the conference guide sums it up. “Women who are changing the world one blog post at a time!”

There will be star bloggers, newbies, brands that want to connect, even a few big names from Actress/Talk Show Host Ricki Lake to Pepsi Co CEO Indra Nooyi.

It’s my first year and I’m excited to attend, of course there’s the networking, the sessions, and the parties, but I think the best part will be the people, the energy and the feeling that you’re a part of something bigger and that you have a voice that can change the world.

I will have recaps next week!

Plush Show Highlights

Jun

2011
It was a fun and fabulous day at the Plush Show at the Vibiana Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles.  Dozens of parents and expecting moms gathered to check out the latest baby and toddler finds and to have a little fun.

Here are a few highlights.  Hosts Catt Sadler and Jason Kennedy from E! greeted excited parents with giveaways!  One of my favorites at the event was stroller cleaning by CleanBeeBaby.  When’s the last time you cleaned your stroller?  I know we all do a little wipe and shake to get all the crumbs out, but who has time to really clean it.  What a cool service!  They are a mobile unit making stops all over Los Angeles.

I was shooting a segment for Her Say-a new online web series-so I didn’t make it to the manicure and massage station, but a well-deserved break for the moms there.

I love gummy and sour candy, but I try not to indulge too often, but check out these treats from Sweets Indeed. Candy Kabob Sweet Skewers each one has 1/2 pound of candy!
Project Nursery was also on hand providing design and party planning inspiration.
Beautiful dessert table featuring cake pops, but now take a look at the vases next to it…pie pops.  Yum! Too cute! Could this be a new trend?

Here’s a peek at the Alouette crib that’s about to hit stores from Petit Nest-a modern nursery line by actress Tiffani Theissen and Designer Lonni Paul from HGTV’s Design Star.

I enjoyed meeting all the pregnant moms, parents. and inspirational business owners.  The Zen Mom Giveaway winner Nicole also stopped by with her husband and baby boy! Stay tuned for more from the show and my HerSay segment. I will feature more innovative products for your little one later.
