“Our lives are but a little while, so let them run as sweetly as you can, and give no thought to grief from day to day. For time is not concerned to keep our hopes, but hurries on it’s business and it’s gone.” -Euripedes
This quote was written on a handmade holiday card from my 16 year old brother-in-law and it really moved me. It reminds me to not only appreciate the moment, but our lives in general. As we shift from the holiday chaos to the new year reflection I hope you have some time to take a look back at the year and savor the memories. What were your highlights and how to you want to ring in 2013? Here are a few Reflection Questions to help you highlight the year.
I like to write a Zen Letter to myself answering all these questions. You can do the same thing for your kids too. Ask them what their favorite food, color, activity was this year and write it down. Do they have a favorite memory, what are they thankful for and what do they look forward to next year? It’s a great keepsake.
Happy New Year to you and your families and may 2013 be filled with even more wisdom, inspiration and laughter.
