While technology can be a little overwhelming sometimes, it can also make our lives easier from organizing the calendar to staying connected to our kids and to each other. Social media allows moms to share, collaborate, and even build our own businesses from home. Is it revolutionizing motherhood?
Last night The Zen Mom/Zen Media was featured along with these lovely San Diego Mompreneurs on Fox 5 News. (From left to right -Stacey Ross-San Diego Bargain Mama/SR Media Consulting, Roni Yamamoto-Kids Stuff Etc., Holly Kolman-Mobile Holly, Kathie Zaccaria-So Cal Kids, Angela Quisimbing-SD Moms Night Out, Tracey Black-Don’t Mess With Mama, Christina Fleming-Murasaki Media and Jennifer Rosson-Style Your Life (not pictured). We shot the segment at Hera Hub-a wonderful co-working space here in San Diego. Take a look.
It was great meeting Fox 5 Anchor Kathleen Bade as well. I’ve always admired her work and enjoyed her sincere and charismatic on-air presence and she’s just as fab in real life. While we both worked in TV News I never had the opportunity to meet her in person before. She is mother of 2 and like most of us, trying to juggle it all and find the right balance between career, family and ourselves.
So while technology is allowing mothers to create their own opportunities on their own terms, for me it isn’t always easy. Building a business still takes a lot of time, energy and passion, but at least now we have little more flexibility and options when it comes to juggling a career and motherhood. How has technology changed motherhood for you?
