“If you are depressed you are living in the past. If you are anxious you are living in the future. If you are at peace you are living in the present.” -Lao Tzu

If life was really that simple.  As a mom some days it is, some days not so much.  I’m a planner and I feel like I’m always trying to move forward to next step whether its for my kids or for work.  But for me this quote does put things into perspective and on this Friday it made me a bit reflective.  It was a reminder to slow down and appreciate the moment.

Maybe it’s because my kids are back on their preschool schedule and I have a bit more time to actually stop and think, or maybe it’s because I’ve been fighting a cold and was forced to take it a little easier. Or could it be that my birthday is coming up or maybe I’m just a little burnt out from trying to take on more work than my schedule with my kids allows.

Whatever the reason, today I was feeling a little bit sentimental.   I saw some newborn photos of my son and can’t believe that was 4 years ago.  My kids are no longer babies. Some days seem so slow yet, it feels like time is moving so fast and I can’t believe I already see some of the Fall Halloween decorations up and some places are already promoting Christmas! How are you feeling?  So as I take some time to just pause and appreciate I hope you too have a relaxing weekend enjoying the present moment!  Happy Friday.
