As a former anchor/reporter and now blogger/spokesperson I get asked a lot of media questions. How do I pitch a story? Why can’t I get media coverage? Or other people may have media opportunities, but are nervous about being on camera or they aren’t sure exactly how to share their message, product or vision. That’s why I launched Zen Media Consulting, to help businesses and individuals grow their brand and company by effectively communicating with the media.
If you’re interested in media training there are some exciting things brewing, including an upcoming workshop in San Diego in October where I’m partnering with Stacy Ross, Founder of San Diego Bargain Mama and Media Consultant.
We will also be speaking at a Startup Circle Panel “Understanding The Media” on Tuesday. San Diego StartupCircle is an entrepreneur community focused on innovation, collaboration, contribution and trust. A 1500+ member organization, StartupCircle is dedicated to bringing together entrepreneurs, industry experts, sponsors, investors and resources.
StartupCircle shares, “As we work with startups in all industries, they describe great products, services and technical advancements they have launched. But the one area they all say they are unclear on is PR and Media Relations. So who better to explain the media than reporters, digital media experts and TV anchors — some of whom are operating their own startups, or are also serial entrepreneurs launching multi-million dollar ventures. We will unveil how the media works, and how startups can work with the media to help grow their business! The following panelists will share insight from their personal experiences and take Q&A from attendees.”
When: Tuesday, August 14th 6-8:30 pm
Where: Mintz Levin Conference Center 3580 Carmel Mountain Rd., #300 San Diego, CA 92130
I’m excited to learn from the other panelists as well and will share their insights later.
