Happy Earth Day! Whether you are joining in a celebration, taking part in a rally or just doing your part at home -there are ways to get involved. Earth Day was started in1970 and is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network and is celebrated in more than 175 countries every year. So join in today and everyday. Today is a reminder, but we can all get involved year round.
Recently P& G launched the “Take A Load Off” Campaign with actress and expectant mother Vanessa Lachey in Hollywood to encourage families to switch to cold water washing on this Earth Day. When doing laundry, heating water can account for up to 80 percent of the energy used per wash load in the U.S. If everyone in the U.S. washed in cold water, the energy saved could power the streetlights of New York for more than 70 years.
