“Two powers in the world, 1 is the sword and the other is the pen. There’s a 3rd power stronger than both, that of the women” -MA Jinnah
This tweet from Fatemeh Fakhraie from at the closing keynote at Blogher captured the whole Blogher 2011 experience for me. It’s the final night and I’m tired, but yet so energized and feel so empowered to continue to share my voice. As a journalist for the “mainstream” media for most of my career, I struggled with blogging and sharing my true voice. Today I pledge to be as authentic as possible as I continue to share my stories. As women we should always share our true voice. Ricki Lake who is launching a new talk show in September 2012 said, “be our true selves and learn from each other without judging.” Carol Jenkins who challenged us to set a new news agenda and write about what matters to you. I am taking on that challenge. What matters to you?
I am leaving the conference with a rediscovery of my power and hope I can share that inspiration with you. Discover your power-as a mom, as a woman, as a citizen of the world. Next week I will have highlights from Blogher 2011 that capture more wisdom, inspiration and laughter from the weekend.
